Anniston's First Baptist Church at McClellan - A church committed to Anniston's future

This photo, taken on March 23, 2004, shows Anniston’s First Baptist Church at McClellan rapidly taking shape. The membership of Anniston’s First Baptist Church is excited about the construction of the new church facility at McClellan. John Tyler, architect, and Harold Forsyth, contractor, tell us the new church facility is about 50% complete and should be ready for occupancy by September 2004. The 300-seat sanctuary and accompanying office and educational building will enable the church family to relocate from West 15th Street. The new church is designed in the Mediterranean Revival style of construction found in the Historic Buckner area. People will not only live, learn, work, and play at McClellan, they will also be able to worship.

The new church is located just off Highway 21 in the Cane Creek subdivision. It is on Morton Road where two ball fields were once located. This beautiful location nestled in the wooded area in the northeast corner of McClellan, is a wonderful place to establish a church. The new bell tower stands as if it were a lighthouse of hope. It is our prayer the new church will be able to play an effective part in the growth of McClellan as well as minister to the personal lives of those who choose to attend.

The church will provide opportunities for spiritual growth, ministry involvement, mission support, worship, and community meetings. The church is seeking individuals, who want to be a part of this rebirth. We are looking for people who will invest their lives in the future through Anniston’s First Baptist Church at McClellan.

McClellan is the heartbeat of our city’s future. It is important for churches to be a vital part of the future of Anniston. We are pleased and excited to be a part of the growth and developing potential of McClellan.
