McClellan's Hurricane Katrina Labor Day
The spirit of service has formed the fabric of Fort McClellan throughout its history. A spirit that has been highlighted in the days since Hurricane Katrina. On Labor Day, just one week after the devastation of the communities along the Gulf coast, over two thousand people donated their holiday for a Labor Day of Love to prepare a welcoming environment for those that have lost their homes to Hurricane Katrina.

 | Anniston's First Baptist Church at McClellan - A church committed to Anniston's future
The membership of Anniston’s First Baptist Church is excited about the construction of the new church facility at McClellan. John Tyler, architect, and Harold Forsyth, contractor, tell us the new church facility is about 50% complete and should be ready for occupancy by September 2004. The 300-seat sanctuary and accompanying office and educational building will enable the church family to relocate from West 15th Street.

 | Music at McClellan's Longleaf Concert Series
This summer, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra returned to McClellan for its third concert series. The performances were held on four consecutive Saturdays through May and June. Programs varied from Motown to the classics.

The historic Post Recreation Center, one of the early McClellan buildings, designed and constructed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, has undergone a two-million dollar rehabilitation effort as a regional venue for the arts.

Cane Creek News
The first meeting of the Cane Creek Homeowners Association was held in January 2004 at the golf course. The meeting was very well attended by the majority of the residents of Avery Drive and Littlebrandt Road. Items of discussion included the budget for the association, issues that affect the homeowners, and an election of officers for the board.
