Armed Forces Day 2008
The Fort McClellan Army National Guard Training Center will host an Armed Forces Day celebration on Marshall Parade Field, Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This special event, open to the public, will recognize all members of the Armed Forces.
Representatives from all branches of the Armed Forces will be on hand with displays and booths. The displays will feature not only the latest in military equipment, but some old equipment from the past. A special flyover by the Alabama Air National Guard is scheduled between 10:00 and 10:30 ~ a sight that you don’t want to miss! There will be events designed for the youngsters to enjoy and activities for grown-ups too. Refreshments will be sold by various venders. There will be participation from various organizations and agencies throughout the State of Alabama.
Last year the event was a success and we anticipate this year to be even bigger and better. A special invitation is extended to the community and we urge all Service Members, active and retired, to make plans to join us.
Access to the Training Center is through Galloway Gate, off Highway 21 North, in Anniston, Alabama. | |
