business opportunitiesThe Joint Powers Authority of Calhoun County is seeking a proven and experienced President/Chief Executive Officer to successfully implement the redevelopment plan of the former Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama, an 18,000 acre master-planned community. In this vital role, the President/CEO will manage and lead all economic development efforts so as to achieve the region's economic aspirations.
Salary: $100K+ dependent on experience and skills

Qualifications and Responsibilities: The primary role of a President/CEO will be the successful implementation and promotion of economic development at Fort McClellan. Strong economic development marketing and sales background is desired. The ideal candidate will work cohesively with the JPA Board, manage a staff of 4 and oversee an annual operating budget of $2 million. Fort McClellan has been awarded $200 million in federal funds for environmental remediation/clean up work.
The candidate should be a problem solver and team builder with a demonstrated track record of successful coordination and collaboration of different endeavors. Work experience in property disposition, contract oversight, environmental review and remediation including interaction with regulatory agencies is desired. Development experience with Military Base Properties, Brownfields or Greenfields is encouraged.
